Manson Guitar Works and Mikey Demus, guitarist with UK reggae metallers Skindred, are proud to announce their latest release, the Manson MD-3, based on the classic MA profile guitar and wholly made in the UK at the company’s Ashburton factory. Mikey’s new instrument has been updated extensively for its third MD iteration, with his personal input to the new model informed by its stellar performance on the gigging cycle for Skindred’s critically-acclaimed Smile album.

With a new roast maple neck carve that allows effortless chordal work, a revised profile shape that is optimal for heavy riffing in drop tunings complemented by a dual action truss rod, this guitar gives the versatility and stability required by the modern player.

The tones match the playability, with a custom dual humbucker pickup set supplying a wide range of classic sounds, shaped by Mikey to deliver the full range of tonality he demands. Begin your tone journey with the Benchmark unit at the neck, which gives the player a warm, full-bodied tone, relying on classic Alnico II magnets with 7.5k output. The Manson MD Custom bridge pickup has been given a full-throated boost to nearly 14k of output, thanks to additional winds and ceramic magnets: this unit is exclusive to the new MD-3.

Gotoh hardware throughout with Mikey’s personal preference of mahcine head button, MGW Custom Control knobs withthe added new Wildcat scratchplate on the Dry Satin Black model or the Classic Black plate on the revised Atomic Tangerine finish make these instruments stand out on stage and screen.
