This is very similar to the small spring that is typically used in vintage and contemporary Fender American Series Strat bridges (Fender part number 099-4931-000). Simply drop it into the tremolo arm hole of your Fender USA Standard or American Vintage Stratocaster and then screw the arm into place. The spring is very rigid, creating extra tension and stops the arm from wobbling and becoming loose.
A good tip is to put some Vaseline onto the spring before dropping it into the tremolo hole – this will help to hold the spring in place and prevent it from falling out when the tremolo arm is removed.
