Description
The Yamaha CSP series is a new concept in digital pianos. Designed for those who want the stunning sound of the Yamaha CLP Clavinova series, but with a huge range of additional sounds, backing tracks and learning facilities available when required. These extra features are unlocked through the use of an iOS or Android tablet computer.
It All Begins With An Authentic Piano Sound & Touch
The CSP170 is fitted with Yamaha’s NWX (Natural Wood X) keyboard with synthetic ebony and ivory keytops, escapement to enable exceptional expression in piano performances. There are two main choices of piano sounds available in the CSP170 – the mighty Yamaha CFX concert grand, and the Bösendorfer Imperial. Both piano tones work well for different styles of music.
Three Pedals – Just Like An Acoustic Grand Piano
The CSP170 has three pedals which behave just like those found on a traditional grand piano – sustain, soft and sostenuto. When the additional features are being controlled through your tablet device, the pedals can be assigned to different functions such as start/stop, glide, expression and more!
Display & Control Digital Music Scores On Your Device
When playing along to backing tracks and midi files etc on the CSP170, it is possible to display the printed music score, lyrics and chord symbols on the screen of your connected tablet device.
Headphone Mode
There are two headphone sockets for teacher/pupil scenarios or for duet performances. The headphone output is further enhanced by the implementation of Yamaha’s binaural sampling technology on the CFX piano sound. This technology gives the impression of surround sound through the headphones in order to give a realistic experience.
692 Voices!
If you like to play more than just piano sounds, then the CP170 is the piano for you! Featuring 692 high quality Voices covering all genres of musical instrument, and even synthesizer sounds too. There are also 29 Drum and sound effects Kits available to complete the band! These voices are put to good use when playing along with the huge range of songs you can download from Yamaha’s online services, or they can be used for you to create your own multitrack arrangements using the 16 track recording feature.
Microphone Input With Vocal Harmony
The CSP 170 is so much more than just a piano, yet you wouldn’t know it when looking at the simple, elegant front panel. There is a dedicated microphone input for when you want to sing along; lyrics can be displayed on the screen of a connected tablet computer. The vocal harmony processor adds realistic multi-part harmonies to the main vocal, and digital effects such as reverb and delay can be applied to the microphone to give that ‘professional’, polished sound.
Record Your Performance!
Record your performance on the CSP170 either using the 16 track MIDI recorder for complex multi-part arrangements, or record to a WAC or AAC format high quality audio file so you can share your own music with your friends or across the internet.
Lesson Functions
There are over 400 songs built-in to the CSP170 for you to play along with. The CSP170 can also scan the songs in your smart device’s library to produce a chord chart and piano score, and will even show you what keys to play and when with the intuitive Stream Lights feature.
Accompaniment Styles
Similar to the backing track features found in Yamaha’s popular CVP Clavinova range of pianos, the CSP170 is loaded with 470 high quality backing styles. Playalong using full piano keyboard mode, or split the keyboard for playing using Fingered or Single-Finger chords. It’s like having a complete backing band in your piano – and there are thousands more styles to download from Yamaha’s Musicsoft website.
Huge Sound Output!
The sound of the CSP170 is delivered through two 90 watt amplifiers, driving four speakers. Even at lower volume levels, the sound of the CSP170 is rich and vibrant.
